Southern Chile
Alpine Race Camps

Alpine Race Camps - Tentative Scheduled for Aug 1st and lasting 2 weeks 
 

Southern Alpine Race Camps consist of alpine race training along with days to do discover the local culture and experience fun adventures.  Camps schedules are designed  to allow campers the opportunity to spend time with the hosting ski club children sharing a common love for skiing.   We will work on fundamentals, skill development, race tactics, and fun! The exchange of cultures is our goal. We prepare campers for the upcoming season and provide world experiences that will last a lifetime.

 

Campers will train 10 days out of the 14 days in Chile allowing two days for local  travel and filling the remaining time with unique experiences and adventures.  Camps are held in late July into early August, Exact dates depending on hill space at the selected locations and will be published once contracts are in place for 2025. Camps are all inclusive with one price covering local transportation, lodging food, lift ticket and coaching.  Campers are responsible for airfare to Chile.  

 

In 2024 camp participants experienced training in 2 locations, Laderas, Argentina and Antillanca in Southern Chile.  Locations under consideration for 2025 camp are the camps home base,  Antillanca Chile with Corralco Chile being considered as the second training location.

​​​Logistics

Campers will depart from Boston Logan Airport and arrive in Santiago Chile changing planes and boarding a local flight to Puerto Mont Chile.  

Transportation will be provided from the airport to the accommodations, host hotels and ski areas.  

Lodging

 All lodging is included, children will share rooms unless alternative arrangements are made.  Additional costs may apply.

Chaperones

Campers will travel with our coach from the US to Chile and upon return.  Parent chaperones are welcome.

Luife Sandoval

USSA Level 100 Coach, Luife  is a distinguished Alpine ski racer hailing from northern Patagonia, Chile. With an impressive track record, he earned second place at the prestigious international Borrufa Cup in Andorra and has been nominated twice to represent the Chilean national team. Beyond his achievements on the slopes, Luis Felipe is the founder of Southern Camps in Chile, a venture dedicated to promoting outdoor experiences and fostering a love for adventure.
 

Josefina Sandoval

Josefina is a USSA Level 100 Coach, a skilled Physical Therapist, and a dedicated Strength and Exercise Coach. With five years of competitive ski racing experience, she combines her expertise in athletic performance and injury prevention to help athletes excel. Josefina has also served as the physiotherapist for the skiers of the Antillanca Ski Club in Chile, further showcasing her commitment to supporting elite athletes in their pursuit of excellence.

Scott Martineau

Scott is a USSA Level 200 Coach and former Assistant Coach at the University of NH.  He has 22 years of coaching experience working with athletes at  Pats Peak, McIntyre and Gunstock.  Prior to UNH, Scott spent 6 years as the U16/U18 head Coach at Pat's Peak.  Scott is currently the Program Director of the Abenaki Outing club and Head Coach of the Abenaki Alpine Team.

Abenaki Ski Team is funded through dues and our fundraisers support .  The mountain is supported through the Town of Wolfeboro, the Abenaki Outing Club and the Friends of Abenaki, which are 5013cs.
